Monaghan Education Centre invites interested parties to contribute articles for publication in the second edition of our annual journal, Spring 2019. The focus this year will be on pedagogy with a particular emphasis on strategies that have resulted in good learning outcomes for students, and teachers. We are keen to highlight examples and instances of good practice and research that you might have conducted, in order to share this experience and knowledge with fellow teachers.

“Effective Pedagogy in the Post-Primary Classroom”

  • The booklet will be the first step in a two-step teaching and learning project aimed at the promotion, sharing and development of effective teaching in the modern classroom.
  • Research shows that the single biggest factor in student attainment is effective teaching. There is, however, little research documenting experienced teachers’ classroom practices and their beliefs on why they teach the way they do.
  • I would like to give an opportunity for your school to showcase their good practice and share it with fellow professionals in this publication, while simultaneously supporting the development of effective pedagogy in our education community.
