Develop an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for using the Internet

Having constructed your school networks an "Acceptable Use Policy" for the Internet must be developed prior to linking up to Broadband Internet access. Extensive information, sample AUPs and AUP templates are available on the NCTE web site at www.ncte.ie/InternetSafety/Advice/AUP/ Schools may also consider incorporating acceptable use guidelines for the school network in their AUP including the banning of floppies/CDs/DVDs being brought in from home, guidelines regarding student passwords and regarding the use of mobile phones & video phones in the school.
